Crowd At Heathrow Airport Spark Social Distancing Concerns


New pictures of a mammoth crowd with limited social distancing at the Heathrow Airport has sparked serious concerns for the apparent risk of the spread of coronavirus.

One picture was posted by former British ambassador Sir Peter Westmacott was captioned: “T2 Heathrow Friday afternoon. No ventilation. Long delays. Super spreading.”

This pictures and videos found their way online amidst news of daily corona virus deaths and recent international travel restrictions by the government.

Labour Shadow home secretary, Nick Thomas-Symonds has described the scenes at the airport as “incredibly worrying”, claiming the government was “lurching from one crisis to another”, he added: “They are incredibly worrying, with no social distancing and clearly risking transmission of yet more strains of this awful virus.

“Ministers need to get a grip to protect our country’s health,” he said.

The UK recently recorded 33,552 new cases and 1,401 deaths.
