Armed Bandits Kill 88 People In North-Western Nigeria

Over 88 local vigilante (yan sa kai) have reportedly been killed in Danko/Wasagu local government area of Kebbi State after an attack by armed bandits on Friday, June 4, 2021.
According to the police command in Kebbi State, armed bandits attacked over seven villages, killing at least 88 persons.

According to Police PRO, Dsp Nafiu Abubakar the villages of Koro, Kimpi, Gaya and Iguenge under Danko/Wasagu local government area of Kebbi state were among the places affected by the bandits.

Meanwhile, nearly a week ago, over 200 students were kidnapped and till now, the government has done little or nothing to secure their release. The parents of the victims revealed the government’s lack of sympathy and action in a television interview by Arise TV on Friday, June 4, 2021.

Kebbi state police commissioner CP Adeyemi Adeleke Bode has however assured the people of the area of his command’s readiness to bring the criminals to justice.
He also urged members of the public to always use the emergency numbers made available to alert the police on any impending attack.
