Unknown gunmen have reportedly invaded Nasarawa State’s Ministry of Finance, Budget and Planning in Lafia, carting away with N100 million.

According to reports, the robbers trailed some members of staff who went to a commercial bank to withdraw some cash for the ministry.
The armed men were said to have snatched the N100 million on gunpoint at the premises of the ministry located adjacent to the State’s Accountant General’s Office where several eyewitnesses claim security operatives are stationed.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Ramhan Nansel said the case is yet to be reported to the command. “I can’t confirm that, as it was not reported to the Police,” he told reporters.
Since the beginning of the year, Nigeria has been fraught with increasing insecurity challenges, from Boko Haram and their ISWAP counterparts to Bandits and unknown gunmen. In the midst of all this, the statistics of unemployed youths and graduates in the nation is rising at an alarming rate, further crippling the already failing economy of the 7th most populous nation in the world.
