Kaduna State police command has announced the abduction of the Emir of Kajuru, Alhassan Adamu, and 10 others by suspected bandits in the early hours of Sunday in Kajuru town, Kajuru Local Government Area of the state.
Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Muhammad Jalige, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna on Sunday, July 11, 2021.
Unverified sources say the victims include the emir’s three wives, two of his grandchildren and five of his domestic workers.

The kidnappers are now demanding a ransom of 200 million naira before the release of the Emir and his household.
Similarly, another gang of bandits has abducted a mother and her children, at the Milgoma community in Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Friday night. The bandits were reported to have invaded the small town in their numbers, shooting sporadically and fatally injuring a commercial motorcyclist.
The rate of insecurity in Kaduna State has become more worrisome as security personnel record nearly daily reports of abduction and killings. So far, over 1000 students have been abducted, and well over 200 residents of the state have been killed in different attacks.
Authorities say the recent attacks in the state have been carried out by bandits ( a loose term for kidnappers), armed robbers, cattle rustlers and other armed militia operating in the region who are largely motivated by money.
