2021 Week 20: Covid-19 Cases Increase Further


Nigeria, in the twentieth week of 2021, recorded a total of 287 cases of COVID-19.

On average, the country had over 41 daily records of cases between May 14th and May 20th, 2021.

According to Nigerian Center for Disease Control, the country had recorded a total number of 49 cases on Friday, 14th of May. This, however, dropped to 41 and 7 cases recorded on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

At the beginning of the week, NCDC reported a total of 69 cases on Monday, 17thof May. While, 29 and 43 cases were reported on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively.

The week ended with 49 cases reported at the end of Thursday, 20th of May.  The total number of COVID-19 cases at the end of the week rose to 165,901 with a death rate of 2067 and 156, 459 discharged cases.
