Out of the 36 states, five states received a larger share of the 3.92 million Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine secured by the Nigerian government.

Since commencement of the distribution of the AstraZeneca vaccine in Nigeria, Lagos, Kano, Abuja, Kaduna and Plateau has received a total of  1.14million doses.

This, according to calculations, is about 29 percent of the total vaccine received by the country.

Nigeria had received 3.92 million of the AstraZeneca vaccine through the COVAX facility. Lagos state which has the highest number of cases in Nigeria was allocated 507,000 doses of the vaccine while the FCT, Abuja, was allocated 219,800.

Kano state received 209,550 doses while Kaduna and Plateau got 108,000 and 105,600 doses respectively.

Of the 3.92 million AstraZeneca vaccines received by Nigeria, a total of  2.78 would be shared across other states in the country.

On the COVID-19 dashboard, Lagos have recorded over 57,000 cases; FCT with over 19,000 cases; Plateau with over 9000 cases Kaduna with over 8000 cases; and Kano with over 3000 cases of COVID-19.
