The total cases of COVID-19 recorded in the fourth week of 2021 have dropped to 9538 against the 11,000 cases recorded in the previous week. On averagely, Nigeria had 1362.5 cases reported daily in the fourth week.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Nigeria reported 1483 cases of COVID-19 on Friday and increased to 1633 cases on Saturday. There was, however, a significant drop to 964 cases reported on Sunday. At the resumption of a new week, the country reported 1430 and 1303 cases on Monday and Tuesday.
On Wednesday, NCDC reported 1861 cases– the highest record for the week but this dropped to 864 cases reported on Thursday, 28th January. At the closing of the fourth week, Nigeria had total confirmed cases of 127,024 and 1547 deaths with 100,853 discharged.
